When it comes to doing Slayers fanart I find myself doing more and more pictures of Sylphiel. That's probably because when I started doing these Gourry/Sylphiel pics I was never pleased with how Sylphiel was coming out.
More recently I guess you could say I've found my 'groove' and things are turning out better. Not perfect, but I'd like to think I'm improving.
So why is Sylphiel a ballerina? I don't know I was thinking about what to draw and this idea came to mind. I didn't use any model pics or references at all. (not even my wooden dolls) So I am pleased for the most part on how this came out. I still suck at hands, but that's a common thing.
This pic and all my Gourry/Sylphiel, Gourry or Sylphiel related material is posted on my Gourry/Sylphiel Shrine first before anywhere else.
Coloured mostly with my prismacolour markers.

Well, keep on practicing then, this piece captures something of her spirit. Not sure why it does in terms of being able to explain it technically, alas, but you are definitely on to her... ^_^
